Prospective Families : International Students


Traverse City Christian Schools provides a unique opportunity for international students to study abroad and acquire an American Education. International students can attend 9th-12th grades, for-credit classes alongside their American counterparts and can earn a U.S. High School diploma. New students are accepted entering 9th-12th grades.  Students are also encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities, thereby giving them a true American high school experience.

Traverse City Christian High School is an I-20 school and has accepted students from China, S. Korea, Mexico, and Canada.  All students must be fluent in English.

Boarding for international students is available through host families who have or have had children attend Traverse City Christian Schools.

Some International Student Fee amounts may be waived based on English and academic proficiency.

Tuition can be paid in one or two installments. At least ½ of the amount due must be paid before the start of the first day of school. The second payment would be due by December 31. For payment options, including wire transfer information, please contact our Business office at (231) 929-1747.

Hosting an International Student

Why Host? Our Traverse City Christian School host families play a vital role in the lives of our international students.  The host family offers the student a rich and personal experience of American family life and gains the opportunity to learn about a new culture from a young person’s perspective.

Hosting is a tremendous experience in which you can share in a young person’s hopes and dreams.  By extending the gift of hospitality, families are able to build lifelong relationships with students, their families, and their home churches.

TCCS host families play a key role in nurturing their students’ faith and providing a model of Christian discipleship.  It can be challenging to help a young person transition to a new culture and ease into the surroundings, but the rewards are immeasurable.

Tuition $ 9,750 Basic tuition fee
International Student Fee $ 6,000 Book & registration fees, private tutoring, English Lab, school meals, sports fees, mission trip fees, choir & drama fees, yearbook
Host Family Fee $ 6,250 Provide a caring home environment, meals, transportation, communicate with school, agency, and sending family
