Elementary School Teacher (Third Grade)
Traverse City Christian School is seeking a third grade teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This opening is for a third grade self-contained classroom. This teacher will have a genuine love for God, students, and the mission of Traverse City Christian School. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate. Applicants will be accepted until this position is filled. Female Counselor (Part Time)
Traverse City Christian School is a Christ-centered learning community committed to nurturing the spiritual, academic, and emotional well-being of our students. We are seeking a compassionate, faith-driven female counselor to join our team in a part-time capacity, providing Christ-honoring guidance and support to students in alignment with biblical principles.
Responsibilities
- Provide Christ-centered counseling for students in academic, emotional, social, and spiritual areas.
- Offer individual and small group counseling sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support students’ well-being.
- Guide students in personal and faith development, helping them navigate challenges from a biblical perspective.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards while upholding the school’s Christian values.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs that promote mental health, emotional resilience, and character growth.
Qualifications
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ demonstrating a strong faith and alignment with the school’s mission.
- Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience working with students in a counseling or mentoring capacity.
- Understanding of child and adolescent development, with a heart for ministry.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to integrate biblical truth into counseling sessions.

After School Care (Part Time)
We are seeking a person for our After School Care Program. Candidates must have the ability and desire to work with and care for school-age children ages 5-12. Candidates must pass a TB test, physical exam, background/fingerprint screening, and CPR training. Hours are 2:45 pm to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 11:15 am-5:30 pm on Friday.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree or CDA credential from an accredited college.
- Three to six months of childcare-related experience.
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Alignment with the mission and values of Traverse City Christian School.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrating faith into the curriculum and classroom environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
